I am Gramps — a backyard beekeeper in Brazoria County, Texas. I started raising bees as a way to get outside, learn something real with my hands, and share that curiosity with neighbors.
This site is my public notebook: what works on the Gulf Coast, what fails in humidity and heat, and what I am still figuring out.
What I do
Hive work. I keep and maintain colonies — including Russian-style and modified boxes (you may see “BaBB” notes in the journal). Equipment has to survive rain, sun, and heavy supers.
Honey. I do not sell honey from this site. For Brazoria County jars, go to Douglas Holloway — Wild Bloom Honey (Facebook, Douglasholloway@wildbloomhoney.com).
Propolis & experiments. I am developing propolis tinctures and other hive products. Status: in progress — I will post updates when batches are ready.
Standbot. A robot / automation project aimed at making hive stands and yard work smarter. See the Standbot page for the project story.
Community. I learn alongside groups like the Brazoria County Beekeepers — nuc days, shared labor, and good people who know more than I do.
